My name is Chris Hecht and I am a software developer, analyst, architect, and manager.
I was born in Park Ridge, IL, and grew up in Arlington Heights where I attended St. James Grade School and Junior High. From there I went to John Hersey High School where I graduated in 1992, and then the University of Iowa.
After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1996, with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication and a BA in Communication Studies, I became involved in Web development and then software development. In March of 2006 I received my MS in Information Systems from DePaul University.
I am proficient in ASP.NET, C#, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, SQL Server, and VB.NET. Along with these technical skills, I am able to analyze, adapt to, and be effective in new situations and am strong at bridging the technical and business worlds. I feel I have a natural ability for writing, communicating, organizing, and moving initiatives forward.
I am currently a Manager of Application Development working on association management applications and websites. I am responsible for strategically designing and implementing information systems and software architectures that support core organizational functions for my association management company as well as numerous clients. This includes websites, custom applications, and a custom .NET/SQL Server customer relationship management system (CRM) that facilitates all facets of association membership management (also known as an Association Management System (AMS)).
I define information technology project scope and objectives based on stakeholder interaction, independent research and analysis, vendor evaluation, experience with related business systems, and industry requirements. Small team management including mentoring, task assignment, and overall evaluation is also part of my skillset along with project management involving internal staff, clients, and vendors, balancing various resources with needs. I prepare customer proposals, cost estimates, work estimates, project plans, technical and design specifications, and requirements analysis. I continually update my working knowledge of relevant product offerings and industry directions to provide technically sound, value enhancing solutions.
In 2008, I began CH Consulting, LLC which I do freelance work through. This has strengthened all of my skills including the ins and outs of running a business.
