Welcome. My name is Chris Hecht and I am a software architect.
I was born in Park Ridge, IL, and grew up in Arlington Heights where I attended St. James Grade School and Junior High. From there I went to John Hersey High School where I graduated in 1992, and then the University of Iowa.
After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1996, with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication and a BA in Communication Studies, I became involved in Web development and then software development. I have continued my development education through college courses, seminars, personal studying and training, and freelance work. In March of 2006 I received my MS in Information Systems from DePaul University.
I am proficient in ASP, ASP.NET, C#, DHTML, HTML, JavaScript, Oracle, SQL, SQL Server, UML, and VB.NET. My experience has grown from building basic applications into analyzing, building, and integrating sophisticated software applications on distributed and enterprise levels. Along with these technical and analytic skills, I have also had the opportunity to manage a software department, including supervising staff, determining workload, and project management. These responsibilities have strengthened my organizational, written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
I am currently a Manager of Application Development working on association management applications. I am responsible for strategically designing and implementing information systems and software architectures that support core organizational functions for my company as well as numerous clients, including a custom association management system. I manage team members and perform mentoring, task assignment, and overall evaluation. Also involved is the preparation of customer proposals, cost estimates, work estimates, project plans, technical specifications, design specifications, and requirements analysis.
In 2008, I began CH Consulting, LLC which I do freelance work through.
I am interested in working with .NET technologies as well as enterprise architecture and systems design. I would like to see my career move along these lines.
